A patterned border is a great way to get creative and frame your image with a repeating design or texture. To create one, open your image in Photoshop and make sure it is on its own layer, which you can rename "Image". Then, go to Image > Canvas Size and enter the width and height of your desired border in pixels. For example, if you want a 30-pixel border, enter 60 pixels in both fields. Next, create a new layer below the image layer and name it "Border". Select the Paint Bucket Tool and choose Pattern from the options panel. You can use a default pattern, load your own from the menu, adjust the opacity and alignment of the pattern from the same panel, then click on the border layer to fill it with the pattern. You can also use the Move Tool or the Free Transform Tool to reposition or resize the pattern if needed before saving your image as a JPEG, PNG, or any other format you prefer.
