Another thing to consider is to include activities that will cater to different learning styles. For example, prepare a mix of materials and activities that will cover learning styles such as Auditory, visual and kinesthetic. I would also suggest incorporating the 70-20-10 model. 70% experiential, so there should be activities that will allow them to experience the learning such as case studies, group activities and so on. 20% Social learning, this can also be done via group activities or pair-up sessions. 10% formal learning, which will be covered by your lectures and discussion.

Overall when it comes to training , the trainer already knows what they're going to teach ,the learner knows why they're there , creating a comfortable and fun environment is very important, learning a new skill can be daunting, especially when it comes to the age of some persons , I can't say what age , because different lessons will be grasped in different timeframes ,but the middle ground for me is an environment where everyone is comfortable.
