Interior design with BIM is getting more traction. Although I'm not an interior designer per se, I deliver interior design proposals in my projects using Revit. In addition to using Revit native features, I include specialized add-ons like RCCS from bimcabinets.com to develop accurate custom cabinetry documentation and the extensive interior elements library from Blocksrvt.com to integrate brand-specific products to enhance the design intent. Apart from Revit, I use 3ds Max + Corona Renderer to craft high-quality renderings that show realistic materials and give the client a better sense of what they will get as an end product.

I know that there is still some apprehension in applying BIM software to interior design, mainly because it can be challenging to find specific furniture and decoration items. However, I believe that the mentioned benefits are worth the effort to create standards and custom libraries that fit your style and design process. From personal experience, I know that the first projects can be more challenging, but once you have the right template and families, the entire process flows more quickly and accurately.

Asumo que como arquitecta especialista en interiorismo soy reacia a BIM, porque la implementación es compleja, y la producción de detalles de interiorismo, en mi caso, nunca es seriada. En un estudio atelier se adoptan marcas preferentes de cualquier detalle: manivelas de puertas de Olivari o Formani; soluciones de almacenaje de Rimadesio o Bulthaup, y todas ellas se pueden descargar en formato dwg desde la web. Los bloques dwg que más empleo, los agrupo en un único archivo recopilatorio. Gracias a AutoCad consigo soluciones rápidas y customizadas. De veras, me encantaría poder trabajar con Revit en interiorismo... aún espero que algún arquitecto me convenza.
