In my experience organisational contribution requires a lot of red tape, including conversations with legal. Anything you produce on company time or equipment is owned by them and you now want them to give it away for free. I believe that is the company is willing to use open source then they should be willing to publicly give back. Having an organisation supporting can give big boosts and help grow the popularity which in turn should mean more contributors. However it's not all good as now bad actors know your using this code, is everything as secure as you think it is?
