How can you communicate with team members when deadlines change in product R&D?

In my experience with agile world , it’s as important as mindset to have teams and business mindfulness, what I mean here is let teams and business need not be two parallel lanes of train track which never meet but let them both be the wings of the sparrow which flutter thousands of times in a minute and the sparrow body being the product ! Such beautiful imagination:) Which means teams do understand the business values and goals and vice versa! This makes it very very easy for a product owner to communicate as it’s already a first hand information to teams unlike a water fall when closely working with RND projects or products. Hence comes no negotiation or convincing terms with teams when teams think from business shoes.*conditions apply!

In my experience communication plan needs to be framed for clear and effective communication through which you can define process of communication, expectations and process of communication. Build a framework for the same which addresses following questions such as - What needs to be communicated Who needs to communicate it When communication needs to happen Why and how to communicate Where info that has to be communicated should be stored.

In my opinion- - Choosing the right channel of sharing such news is very important. - It is best to deliver such news in person, with backing of proper data & facts, that's what suits me the most - In remote set-up I prefer sharing such news over video conference call at least, your visual connection definitely helps - In such cases, I like to have baking of few stakeholders, which can be done by having 1:1 conversations & agreement, before disclosing the news to a broader forum
