Remote onboarding is challenging in itself and to translate the expectations can make it more difficult. It gets effective when clear instructions, goals, agenda, virtual team orientation meetings, company handbook and team profiles are sent across. While the above is sent across it is important for HR to train the manager side by side as well and keep a close weekly check in the performance. This will only happen when there will be equal open end communication. One major aspect that helped me during pandemic was tagging a team buddy who was working on similar tasks, this helped the newbie to become comfortable, understand the culture and be clear on what was required from him/her.
