1 What are native apps?

Depends on you. I'll try to approach this from a job perspective. Native apps are always more robust than cross-platform apps on their own. As native apps talk to the framework more intimately so is often the choice of MNCs. Cross-platform frameworks usually have a layer and native hooks that help them access native API and are often the go-to choice for startups. Also, native apps often take longer to learn than cross-platform technologies. However native frameworks are much more future-proof. Hope these points help you in making the correct choice.

Native apps have their own individual code bases whereas hybrid apps share a code base. This means you can iterate on hybrid apps on all target devices simultaneously, you won't have any situations where your iOS team gets ahead of your Android team or vise versa. Also you usually won't have bugs on one platform that don't exist on the other using hybrid. There are a lot of platform-specific features that makes it enticing to write Native apps. Generally the best 'look and feel' is with a highly refined native app. Also if you need to go deeper into things like sensors or other hardware you may only be able to accomplish this with Native.

Maintaining multiple teams, each specialized in a native environment, entails significant costs and difficulties in keeping versions compatible across all of them. Hybrid environments can bring a substantial reduction in costs and greater ease in delivering the same functionalities in almost identical ways to users, regardless of the platform.
