From my experience, there are the following considerations if you are considering bootcamp vs. online self study course: 1. Do you have thousands of dollars to spend? Most bootcamps are expensive, costs a couple hundred to thousands of dollars. 2. Do you have time? Bootcamps have intensive schedules and requires hours of work everyday with less flexibility. It might not allow you to hold another job or have other responsibilities. 3. Do you need someone to watch your progress and be there to help you? Some people prefer scheduled coursework with live instructors, and guided help on hand whenever needed, which bootcamp provides.
If you have the budget for a bootcamp, do it! It will be really good for networking and for the degree, but you got to understand that this must be your priority and have a really good time management. Add 1 to 2 hours just for learning, make a commitment inside of your routine, otherwise you'll just spend your money on it and will not adapt to a bootcamp or even in self-paced learning. If you don't have budget, you also must have the other two for self learning, make projects to your portfolio with metodologies that you find in study cases, there's a lot of tools that help you with ideas, even AI can help you. You can learn with your older projects also, don't be shy and share with the community so they can see your evolution.
