4 years ago, we moved from The Netherlands to Barcelona. We had an extra challenge, arriving right before Covid. Double challenge, so double the opportunity to pivot. Bring it. What helped most: - Realising I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel. - Connecting with people who made the move before and asking about their journey. - Building my local network. - Attending events - online and face-to-face. - Approaching it as an opportunity. - Getting back to the drawing board to fill my own Brand voice again. Not to change my personal brand but to re-think it. Does it still align with me? Is the way I communicate the right fit, or will it benefit if I adjust it? You should do that regularly anyway. It doesn't matter how awesome you are, if people won't even give you a chance to showcase your brilliance. Who you are seen as online opens the right gates for you. Take it seriously.

While building such keep in mind to be consistent and clear about you and your goals. Also you can use the cultures of your home country and the new country to your advantage.

Llegar a un país nuevo siempre es un reto. Pero la parte positiva es que también es una oportunidad para construir tu marca en ese nuevo espacio. Lo importante siempre es que tú puedas definirte y tengas muy claro cómo quieres posicionarte. Lo peor que nos puede pasar es que por la ausencia de un plan, sean el resto quienes te posicionen. The most important thing in my experience has been to remain authentic and honest. There is so much posturing and pretending over social media, that people are becoming suspicious. And the people who matter can see through your BS. You won't be able to maintain consistency if you are not being authentic to yourself. And we know that inconsistency is anti-branding.
