There is no substitute for in person connection. Stop by other practices as you are getting to know people. Bring something small and fun - a treat, flowers, etc. for the front office team to enjoy. Ask if you can make an appointment to meet with practice leaders or invite them to an upcoming networking event. Once you've stopped by in person, reach out electronically. Email or online platforms. Encourage them to attend the event or mention the appointment you've set for their office.

As you build your network, use it! Refer patients to those providers. When patients are referred to you, send a thank you note to the provider and office. It's never just the physician making the referral. The staff knows which practices are difficult to deal with. They will steer referrals elsewhere. So make sure yours is easy to work with... and that you express gratitude to the staff of the offices sending patients your way. Relationships with everyone matter!
