Tenía la noción de que si aprovechaba las redes sociales para publicar y hablar de cosas del sector podría conseguir una oportunidad, aunque no tenía los recursos para ello. Pero entendía que no debía llegar a todo el mundo, así que me puse a publicar usando hashtags del sector, dar comentarios relevantes en las publicaciones de personas conocidas y agregar a personas-objetivo para que puedan ver lo que publicaba Y lo que más me ayudó a conseguir oportunidades de negocio fue entregar el mensaje correcto y a las personas correctas, no a todo el mundo

You don't need a budget to build your personal brand. Start by asking these two questions. 1) What are you good at? 2) How can you help others become good at it? Once you know the answers, find people who are extremely good at what you do and observe, analyze and model their posts/behavior. And then post consistently on your researched platforms and reiterate.

La web personal es el nuevo CV. Es tu propia carta de presentación, más allá de cualquier red social. Pero es clave que te refleje, en forma y fondo, y que, por sobre todas las cosas, sea COHERENTE. Si te definís como creativo, tu storytelling y tu web tienen que transmitir creatividad. Si te describís como un profesional de excelencia, no podés tener errores de ortografía. I'm a strong believer in not spreading yourself too thinly. Work out where your audience are hanging out and focus your time and energy on that platform. How do you know which platforms your audience are using? The first thing you can do is ask them! I know, simple right?! Secondly you could search for them on the relevant platforms. If you want to sell to, say, copywriters, then do a search of copywriters/people on LinkedIn and just see how many you find!

Building your personal brand on social media, specifically on LinkedIn is so incredibly important. When I began my personal branding journey in 2022 I started right here on LinkedIn and the results completely transformed my life. I made sure to fully optimized my profile, define my target audience, and establish connections that were aligned with my values. There are so many great tips and tricks to get started but the best place in my opinion is your profile and presenting yourself authentically. After that, everything falls into place!

There’s no better place to build your personal brand in 2023 than Social Media. However with the increasing user base, simply using a platform isn’t enough. You have to be strategic about everything. Change your plan according to each platform. What works on Instagram doesn’t necessarily work on LinkedIn or Facebook. But whichever platform you choose to build your own brand remember to be authentic and real to yourself and to the people at all times. Use certain distinctive characteristics that will make you stand out from others. Pick a brand colour, a nick name, a particular posting style, a formatting style, a signature way to end your content. The key is to connect with people in the right way.

This is where you can create the most impact with the least investment. Your social selling does impact your sales. Platforms like LinkedIn and Twitter are perfect for B2B networking and thought leadership.

Social media channels provide great platforms that you can use to amplify your message as it provides one to many communication. When building your personal brand, you should tailor your message to the channel. For example, use Linkedin and Twitter to grow and communicate with your professional network, share job accomplishments and thought leadership content. Instagram, TilTok and YouTube for sharing your personal side, hobbies, and as much as you are comfortable sharing about family, etc. we all want to feel connected in this digital space but privacy is also important. The secret sauce is authenticity and consistency. You have to stick to it to be effective. I recommend creating an editorial content calendar to organize and plan.

Content is the backbone of your brand. Consistent content builds trust and brand recall. Focus on quality over quantity. Use free tools in the beginning to enhance your content creation journey.

With the rise of AI it's never been more easy for business owners to create and drive content engagement. Here is a simple approach I use: 1. I create a longer form video 8-15 minutes 2. Transcribe, Caption and create a summary 3. Load the summary into ChatGPT and turn it into a blog. 4. Prompt Chat GPT to then create 15 Social Media posts relating to the blog content. Publish these over 6-12 months. 5. Prompt Chat GPT to create a 3 part email sequence to help promote the blog to my database. 6. BONUS: invest $200 in promoting the post to your audience on LinkedIn or other platforms.

Don't build your house on rented land. It's great to create content but it's more important to share and reuse it. If you've written an article that's on someone else's site, it can disappear over time. Save your content and, if it's good, you may find it's useful again in time. This happened to me recently with an article on Imposter Syndrome.

Generating free publicity (earned media), such as having an opinion piece published in a magazine or being featured in a television interview, is a powerful way of building a personal brand. Start by building relationships with journalists, editors and producers relevant to your industry. And like any business relationship, a media relationship must be nurtured, needs and expectations must be met, and there must be a mutually-beneficial value exchange. In exchange for your newsworthy content (story, interview talent and pictures) the media may publish your story but…there are no guarantees! The key is to target the right media with the right message for the right audience at the right time. And that’s a story for another day.

In my early days, I recognized the power of collaboration. I didn't have a massive reach, so partnering with like-minded individuals gave me access to new audiences. I guest-posted for peers and invited them onto my newbie podcast and small follower IG lives. Joining Twitter and Clubhouse, I engaged genuinely, offering value and soaking up knowledge. When you have a limited budget, you need to be lean. What I did in the past was set up quick and simple surveys to clients, asking them for feedback. I included open-text fields to get as much info. This way, I could act on any insights asap.

Here's the basic difference: - When you have a budget, you can outsource the work. - When you have a limited budget, you learn and do it yourself. And if you are someone who is busy and has some budget, it is a wise decision to outsource this. You can always stay connected, give your opinion, and add your perspective to the posts. However, working with an expert/social media manager can make the process less overwhelming and more rewarding.

Sharing failures is as aspect of branding that often goes unaccounted for. We all fail and the most successful people have generally failed more times than most have even tried. It is important to share the times you have failed so that others relate to you in a meaningful way. While most people tend to only share their successes, this is not what connects you with your audience. People want to hear about the times you failed and got back up. As a creator, they want to look to you for inspiration and guidance so show them how you overcame struggles, failure and setbacks and became successful. This is what people want to see. They are looking for a source of inspiration, not someone who shows off and brags.

Sharing your personality as part of your perspective and opinion on the knowledge you share is a huge part of your personal brand — anyone can google info but your unique take on that info is what will connect people to you and make them want to follow you.
