I would add establishing a council or congregation (though many exist these days, some have sadly become commercial) at least in the vertical supply chain or in a different industries/segments altogether for sharing best practices would help and Engaging academia would also contribute to forming a symbiotic network, bridging the gap between the theory and practical application of industrial engineering concepts in its many flavours (TPS, TOC, Lean, 6Sigma et al) on the shop floor
