Visiter ensuite la page entreprises pour voir leurs publications et connaitre leur actualités, réalisations et valeurs mise en avant. C'est un outil très précieux car ensuite, nous pouvons filtrer les salariés de l'entreprise par fonction, lieu de travail, etc ...

Step 1 - even before identifying your target companies - should be determining what your must-haves are for a company you would work for. I work with my clients to identify 3-4 non-negotiables, which they then use to identify their target companies. This keeps them focused on what's most important to them and avoids "shiny object syndrome."

Personalize your approach, showcase your value, and express sincere interest. Avoid generic messages and refrain from asking for a job immediately. Within each company, using linkedin and their website, find the following: 1. Hiring Managers 2. CXOS 3. HR/Talent Each of these have different perspectives. Connect and reach out demonstrating the value your can bring to the organisation.

Sélectionnez dans votre réseau, des personnes avec qui vous avez eu des relations de qualité dans le passé. Chaque semaine, choisissez en de 2 à 5 avec qui vous allez reprendre contact même si vous ne les avez pas vues depuis longtemps. Regardez leur profil LInkedin, connectez vous à elle si ce n'est pas déjà le cas. Demandez leur des nouvelles , qu'est ce qu'ils font. En retour précisez leur votre situation actuelle de transition professionnelle et demandez leur s'ils connaissent des personnes dans votre secteur cible. Faites en de même pour eux en leur proposant votre réseau. Prenez l'habitude de ne pas laisser dormir votre réseau.

Following up and keeping in touch is key! It will show the contact that you generally are interested in working for them, and they are not just a number on your sales list. It is also important to be connected with them, see what they get up to or share on LinkedIn and show interest. This again really helps to build good relationships, so if an opportunity ever arises they will decide to work with you.

So important that your follow-up efforts are a two-way street. Your aim should be to give as much or more value that what you are getting. If this relationship is one-sided, it isn't a relationship at all - it's parasitic.

I want to share a fun story on how I got my current job. In 2019, I had just completed my Master's degree. I was bored, so I conducted a survey to find out what challenges graduates face in the job market in Malaysia. I wrote a long post on my findings on my blog, which caught the attention of a Head of Department at a government agency. He reached out to me on LinkedIn asking if I was interested in collaborating as a freelance writer for them as they are working on various talent initiatives. However, things did not work out due to timing, but we stayed in touch on and off over the next couple of years. Come Nov 2023, I came off a 1-year career break to join his team in a role that was made specifically for me.
