Control Engineering is a world that is constantly developing and changing. Therefore, we need a plan so that we can always update technological developments in the field of control engineering so that all the solutions we provide will be in accordance with customer needs and the times. The first thing to do is analyze what we have with the current needs. With this we will be able to plan better for example we have to enhance our knowledge in PLC Programming, network configuration, cybersecurity, Data Analysis, Industrial Standard and Regulation, etc.

The irony of this question is that without professional development, engineering skills diminish or become parochial and narrow. Keeping pace with technology is critical to job performance. By taking care of mental wellness you will find that you are able to achieve and learn more in life.

In my experience, when being a junior, relaxation is a place where you don't want to be. You are new at the company and perhaps young enough to ask significant questions and with good ambition. Try to learn a lot and have the company of a mentor. Making many mistakes (but always fixing them) is expected on first years in a control role. Once you grow in the organisation, it is expected that you have a more focused attention on certain tasks you showed interest and skills in. Then, you can create a better-balanced work agenda and do not invest time on things that you now know lead nowhere for the business needs and your personal career interests.

The key is keeping a balance in time and attention balance in these areas. Only you establish and you set priorities for yourself.
