Organizations have their own culture, and if the organization is an international one, the culture tends to be quite different from a country to another. I've had the fortune to work with people from different countries, and I can tell you that it is very different talking to people from France than talking to people from the U.S. or India. I'm Mexican, and I believe that humor in itself is not a bad thing, but a little cross-cultural research before sending out that joke can go a long way in how your message is received.

My personal opinion is that professionalism and moderation should be maintained in electoral communication.
