Having successfully used gamification (and came out as the overall conference winner) during a fully online conference at the start of the second year of the pandemic, I can attest to the need for seemless integration that encourages participation, and focused engagement. Integrating options that attendees need to actively select, will require their attention and focus. Furthermore, gamification can increase attendee interaction with each other (either through collaboration or friendly individual competiton), and overall enthusiasm during the conference. Just think, who doesn't enjoy wholesome competition that results in some form of bragging rights?
