How can you accurately represent user flow in your wireframe?

User flow is like a roadmap of steps that users follow while using a product or service. It's the sequence of actions they take to accomplish a specific task or achieve a goal within the product. User flow is essential for ensuring that the product or service is user-friendly and intuitive. Designing a well-thought-out user flow can enhance the overall user experience and make it easier for people to use the product effectively.

The user flow represents the initial stage where users navigate through all the features offered by the web app or mobile app. Termed as a roadmap, it serves as the guiding path where users embark on their journey and accomplish their desired goals.

A user flow is what a user does to get the job done. For example I'm transferring money from one account to another on my bank's mobile app, the journey doesn't start with me selecting accounts to make the transfer. It starts when the user, pulls out their phone and opens the banking app, this is where the user flows begins, it ends when the job is to be done (in this case transfer of funds). As UX experts, we decide how we want that flow to start and finish, so there might be some business objectives that also need to be completed, so we offer up different paths, that users can follow after the jbtd.

I agree. User flow is closely related to user experience because it is a path taken by a user to complete a task. A poor user flow leads to a poor user experience.

All of these may need designs.

One thing I'd like to share, which has worked for me, is breaking the overall user flow into different tasks and assigning goals to those tasks. This approach helps us understand and identify pain points more closely. It also contributes to building a structured Object-Oriented User Experience (OOUX).

You already know this but reiterating based on my experience- think using pencil paper or a whiteboard. Use a computer only after you have a clear idea of what the user flow will be. :)
