Vertcal farming are suitable for the crops which do not need lot of dirct sunlight. So, herbs are one of most suitable choices for vertcal farming. Some herbs grown for cosmtics like Hemp, Mint, Basil, Aloe vera, tea tree etc. can be integrated into vertical farming. Similarly strawberries and flowers like Lily and Roses are already being grown in vertical farms for fragrance and cosmetic industry.

Customization of Growing Conditions: Crops used in cosmetics may have specific requirements for growth, including light spectrum, humidity, and nutrient levels. Vertical farm can do all of this.

Vertical farms are normally made under controlled conditions. The packag of practices can thus be modifid according to the desirabilty of crop traits. spcifically the essential oil content, anti-inflammatory property and aroma etc. can be maintained or improved throughout the crop cycle. The purity of the raw materials can also be ensured because there is less chance for exposur to other crops which is not possiblein horizontal space. This process of vertically growing cosmetic crops is also more efficient with regard to resource use and sustainable way of farming

Vertical farming is great for both food production and the cosmetic industry. It can be a sustainable source for input ingredients within the industry. Most of the crops used in the cosmetic industry typically go through some type of transformation. Whether that is drying or some type of process to an oil. Vertical farms if they are selling to the cosmetic industry should evaluate is it easier to be a raw commodity producer for the industry or do some vertical integration to process the crops on site as well before shipping.
