This is very important in my experience, always seek clarity or ask the question. I often tell my beginner or intermediate language learners to ask what the word is, ask why did the person use that word & to be humble enough to know that we don’t know everything. Everyone has different ways of saying things, even in English and to gain more vocabulary for yourself.. Always ask the questions.

In any language, there are so many ways to get across an idea. Be confident in yourself and your fluency or use of language in recognizing that there is never just one way or one perfect way to say something. Yes, when translating there is the importance of translating a persons idea but don’t bring yourself down because you don’t know that ONE perfect word.
