From the YT world - a couple of points to make them most effective: 1) communication of timetable 2) update video descriptions 3) address the non-live viewers 4) ask for feedback Elaborated here: 1) In the world of online edu, students have a lot of options and although your content may be brilliant - consistency is key. 2) update them with relevant links and make sure to create playlists of similar videos. Discoverability of the awesome content you create is the top priority! 3) a lot of students will watch your content in a recorded format, be cognizant of that! 4) share forms, ask how to make things better in live chats. Also, ask students to leave comments in the video after the live is done.

YouTube is really cool this way, gives you a LOT of analytics. Focus on your target group. You could make two kind of content, that gives you: 1) views 2) subscribers (1) is engagement (2) is core content. Figure out what your orgs focus is and work towards creating content accordingly. The best mix would be to have (1) to be very similar to (2) but in a short format. (1) leads to (2) but be careful, if the content in (1) and (2) is very different it could hurt your channel adversely. Once you have figured out how to make (1) and (2) work, you can deep dive into 48 hour performance of your videos, performance over a week, or month or even a year. Seasonality, keyword search, it can get quite overwhelming tbh, one step - at a time!
