How can semantic web technologies improve BIM education and training?
Building information modeling (BIM) is a process of creating and managing digital representations of physical and functional characteristics of buildings and infrastructure. BIM can enhance collaboration, coordination, and communication among different stakeholders, as well as improve design, construction, and operation of built assets. However, BIM also poses some challenges for education and training, such as the complexity of data, the diversity of tools, and the need for interdisciplinary skills. Semantic web technologies, which are based on the principles of linking, sharing, and reusing data across different domains and applications, can offer some solutions to these challenges. In this article, we will explore how semantic web technologies can improve BIM education and training in six ways.
