there are different forms of private clouds. You can build and operate one yourself. In the last few years, we tend to see that companies don't want to handle hardware, datacenter and networks anymore and use a private cloud provider. In this field, there are again different options. From a single data center cluster to a redundant one, including a direct L2 link into your office for low latency and high speed.

There are several tools that have really advance offerings when it comes to enabling DRs. Most of the managed services providers do provide DRaaS. Tools like Zerto, Veeam, etc. help formulate effective DR engadgement.

You can either leverage the virtualization stack (VMware) to setup a DR site, or use tools such as Zerto, Veeam, etc. If you use containers, you might now even need those, and solve high availability on container level.

Implementing a private cloud DR plan involves several steps, such as designing and deploying your private cloud architecture and infrastructure, migrating and replicating data and applications, configuring and testing DR processes, and regularly reviewing and updating your DR plan. This includes primary and secondary sites or zones, network connections, storage and backup systems, virtual machines and containers, cloud migration services, data transfer appliances, APIs, backup and restore schedules, failover and failback triggers, automation and orchestration scripts, monitoring and reporting tools.
