How can policy makers and stakeholders support integrated pest management and biodiversity conservation?
Integrated pest management (IPM) is a sustainable approach to managing pests that combines biological, cultural, physical and chemical methods. It aims to reduce the use of pesticides and their negative impacts on human health and the environment, while enhancing crop productivity and profitability. Biodiversity conservation is the protection and restoration of the variety of life on Earth, including genes, species and ecosystems. It is essential for maintaining ecosystem services, such as pollination, pest control, soil fertility and climate regulation, that support human well-being and food security. How can policy makers and stakeholders support IPM and biodiversity conservation in agriculture? Here are some suggestions.
