I always type out the terms and conditions in the proposal I type out once I’m contacted to shoot something, which acts as the contract my client will sign if they accept. That way from day 1 everyone is on the same page. Of course it can be modified.

I love having the signed proposal as the contract because if they try to be dishonest or cause any issue for me, I simply refer back to the society they signed. In extreme cases I’ve had to say my lawyer will be reaching out to you if this is going to be a problem.
