How can LMS data analytics be used to improve course design?

In my experience with course design, the paramount initial step is establishing clear and measurable learning objectives – the milestones learners are expected to reach by the course's conclusion. Here, the utilization of Learning Management System (LMS) data analytics emerges as a potent ally. These analytics tools enable the alignment of course content, activities, and assessments with the defined learning objectives. Through data dashboards, I can actively monitor learners' progress, pinpointing any gaps or misalignments and subsequently adjusting the course for optimal alignment.

Engagement is key and good design combined with good data usually tells us the engagement story. Knowing who, how, when, and why people engage gives us powerful insight on how to improve design. The balance here is knowing that what people want is not always what they need.

These interviews allow them to share their feelings and reactions to the proposed pedagogical system. By asking open-ended questions, we get some very interesting contributions in response.
