**Exciting Announcement!** Today, our leadership joined Heartland Community College in announcing plans for the COUNTRY Financial trail and prairie restoration at Heartland. “COUNTRY has had a longstanding, successful partnership with Heartland Community College that has led to the development of exceptional talent here in Bloomington-Normal,” said Jim Jacobs, CEO at COUNTRY Financial. “We are excited to build on that success with this additional investment at Heartland, which will create a place where everyone, including many COUNTRY employees and their families living here, can gather and connect.” Work will begin this spring with completion planned for July 2025. This week the Early College Scholars from Heartland Community College visited the COUNTRY corporate headquarters for a day of career development and learning with their mentors. Our leaders and employee mentors enjoyed spending time with the students, learning about their educational aspirations and helping them take steps to move them further along the path toward their future careers. The COUNTRY Financial Scholars program provides scholarship assistance, mentorship, and technology support to high school students with demonstrated financial need.

The future is bright! Our leaders recently had the opportunity to meet with COUNTRY scholarship recipients from Illinois State University. We are truly inspired by their passion and dedication to their studies and future careers. We can’t wait to see what these students will do with their talents! COUNTRY is a proud community partner of Illinois State University and provides scholarships to more than 100 students for the 2024-2025 school year.

Congratulations to our COUNTRY employees selected for the Crop Insurance Reinsurance Bureau (CIRB) Emerging Leaders program! Luke Aupperle, Pricing Supervisor, and Carissa Lozier, Crop Claims Field Supervisor, were chosen along with 19 other industry professionals, for a yearlong program in which they will learn strategies for effective advocacy for the crop insurance industry. Congratulations to Kari Sandhaas, Senior Agency Training Designer at COUNTRY, for being named one of three Philanthropists of the Year by the Illinois Prairie Community Foundation! The recipients were recognized on November 12 at the Philanthropy Lunch in Bloomington, IL. Sandhaas lives out our vision of serving the community both inside and outside of work, through her career in training and education and through her volunteer work with several nonprofit boards and committees.
