Learn SQL. Get comfortable exploring the database and finding where the data you need exists. This ability will open up new avenues to provide content that can't be easily obtained through existing reports and where you can add value.

Focusing on the basics is a great start for sure. Don’t get stuck in tutorials or courses. Eventually progress to projects and assessments on sites like Leetcode when it comes to SQL. Build out data visualization projects. Create your own project in Excel and example could be tracking your finances. Look into metrics that can bring value to businesses and include those in your dashboards and reports.

Biggest example that I can give is someone aspiring to be a data scientist in long run has to focus on basics like understanding data and master SQL . To draw meaningful info before even thinking to solve complex problems in the world , we must take baby steps so that we can make jump later with a strong base behind us.

1. Nothing you do should be under pressure; do not feel the need to go from 0-100 within the first. 2. Constantly build capacity through continuous learning, building projects, and constant practice. 3. Seeking mentorship and joining other learning communities will also go a long way.

I believe, one can gain confidence by sharing their work to the LinkedIn community and get feedback from others. This is something I have been trying over the past year. I have been working on my R, Python, and Tableau projects and posting them on LinkedIn groups. People have been giving me feedback on how I can make the analysis and visuals better. This has helped me a lot over time and made me more confident!

I think the best approach to take feedback is to think in terms of does this feedback makes the output better? does it align with the continual progress and enhancement mindset,Being defensive about your analysis sets you in trap of being biased and that’s exactly what you don’t want, People are of different hierarchy in corporates for a reason you need to actively listen and isolate the feelings from that by the end of the day as an analyst you are here to find the right answers.

The best way to practice is to have personal projects. These projects challenges you, and make you think critically, it shows you where you are and where you are going to, it builds your competencies. Do not shy away from projects. They might seem difficult at first, but take it one step at a time, as all analytical task are broken into steps. This will build confidence and competencies bit by bit. #stick to it #do it

Although the adage "practise makes perfect" is often overused, the very reason it is classified as an overused saying is because of the truth it holds. A different view would like to be presented here: practise regularly on projects that interest you. This is an example of why data analytics can be such an exciting journey - it can be applied to almost everything. You're an avid reader? Write a Python script that crawls through your favourite author's books that identifies their writing pattern, that can help you identify similar authors. Football is your thing? Draw up a dashboard that tracks your favourite players' metrics as the season progresses. Whatever your interests are, practise your data analytics skills on those.

Market values expertise, which is achieved through practice and, in other words, working across similar projects repetitively. Based on my experience, here are a couple of suggestions: Do not hesitate to undertake similar projects repeatedly. Some might argue that you are not learning anything new, but in essence, you are practicing and gaining expertise. A quick caveat: when you practice, it's not just about doing things repeatedly, but also about pushing your boundaries and expanding your horizons in terms of knowledge, tech stack, and techniques. Having the knowledge to approach a problem from various angles is highly valued, as this helps triangulate the results and build confidence in the insights derived from the data.

Be a learner always , be ready to learn. Being a Professor, over years I have learnt so much from my students. So one should be open to learning and that way automatically confidence of anyone will boost whether you are entry level Data Analyst or in any other profession.

Define your objective. In data analytics jargon, this is sometimes called the 'problem statement'. Defining your objective means coming up with a hypothesis and figuring how to test it. Keep learning and enjoying the world of data!

As an early stage data analyst, to build confidence and get more experienced with things... Try exploring all the options you know, seek feedback, ask questions to self then seniors / mentors etc. Question yourself these all the steps 1) what you are doing ? Eg. Normalising data. 2) why you are doing ? Eg. Why you should normalise. 3) where you are doing ? Eg. At which stage or part of the flow before trianing the model. 4) which method you are using ? Eg. Min-Max , z-score etc. 5) how it effects the next steps? Eg. If normalised how will it effect else how it might become. Also know the granularity upto where you need to get the solution. Keep questioning !!! ?? All the very best
