How can employee relations training be more inclusive?

All too often I think we fall into a trap on Employee Relations. While yes, we need to provide training, structure, mentorship and guidance it doesn't end there. Yes, those are the foundations to how we interact and set expectations - but that is only the beginning. Employee Relations is just that - how we interact and relate to our employees. If we set a culture of expectations, while providing observable mentorship from the leadership level down (you are the role model and should be actively modeling the way each day), we will drive inclusion, fairness and equality. Monitor and provide feedback daily but the movement begins with you and you have to own that every day!

To make employee relations training more inclusive: 1. Diverse Content: Include varied cultural and social perspectives. 2. Accessible Formats: Offer materials in different formats (audio, visual, text). 3. Interactive Sessions: Encourage participation from all groups. 4. Training should not be part of customary exercise to show case HR functionary numbers and targets on training conducted, instead focus needs to be on intent, if intent will be focused way to inclusiveness will be clearly visible. We need to work on intent not on content and training matrix alone, this will open more way for inclusiveness.
