Hence, when it comes to selecting content, you need to be extremely efficient and smart. In order to form an inclusive curriculum, it's vital to include content that is varied from the point of view of cultures, diveristies, art, architecture and takes about essential parts that are missed in today's textbooks. The aim is to give holistic content so that the student gets enough knowledge from various perspectives and is free to form opinions and judgements of his own.

Include materials and resources that represent a wide range of cultures, perspectives, and experiences. This can include literature, historical accounts, and examples from various cultures. Multicultural Education: Integrate multicultural education principles, ensuring that the contributions and experiences of marginalized and underrepresented groups are included in the curriculum. Je me rappelle d'une personne qui était dyslexique dans une de mes formations. Elle avait vraiment du mal à prendre ses notes rapidement et prenait un peu de retard par rapport aux autres. Pendant une pause, je lui ai demandé comment elle faisait pour se retrouver dans ses notes. Elle m'a donné une technique ! Par exemple, elle soulignait en rouge les mots importants et en bleu les idées principales. One of the major setbacks that a lot of students face is the generalised assessment process utilised by institutions. Every student has different abilities and skills and hence assessment cannot be done just through a few tests. The method of taking tests can also be different. For example board display, presentations, role plays, project-baded assignements, etc are works that can cater to different cognitive understanding of different students. Using Ed-Tech tools like audio-visual aids, interactive games, clever puzzles, etc makes learning and assessment smarter. The goal is to spread the message that knowledge can be absorbed and assessed in various ways as we all have different capabilities and a single method of assessing isn't fair.

If we are creating a curriculum that is fair and serves everyone then it surely needs constant observation and changes. It is because perspectives and dynamics keep changing and we need to be upfront with the current time. Hence, make sure to keep asking for feedback, take constant surveys and stay in touch with the educators to understand their real-time observations. Utilise Ed-Tech tools to analyse, gather and track progress, find loopholes and then figure our a solution. It's always good to revise the curriculum when and where it's needed, backed with proper research and information.

Creating an inclusive curriculum to cater the needs and diversities of every student can be tough and can turn out lengthy. Hence, make sure you have good experts from the Ed-Tech, teaching and learning areas, so that you can curate well-defined and smart content. Students deserve to get a broad spectrum of knowledge but at a level that they understand and does not become overburdening for them :)

This in itself is not an easy task. Being able to include a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives into a single classroom is a task that takes practice, real world experience, and patience. It’s important to understand diversity, cultural context, how lessons are conveyed, but most important of them all, is the environment in which the learner spends most of their time. Educators need to develop a personal and understanding relationship with their learners to ensure their being catered to in the right way. And this is possible, but like all good things, it just takes time, patience, and perseverance.
