In my opinion, learning a skill is not enough if you don't try it practically. Learning something and using it practically is way too different. Practical knowledge is more important to maintain and upgrade the technical skills. Practical knowledge gives us a wider area of thinking and sometimes you can find new ways to achieve goals easily. By using your skills practically shows your weak points and the paths you are more capable of. By that you can upgrade your skills. You can even showcase your skills to your peers, clients, and employers by creating blogs, articles and so on.
