How can AI-powered chatbots provide 24/7 customer support during product demos?

This is because chatbots rely on pre-programmed responses and may struggle with understanding context or providing personalized assistance. Artificial intelligence pre-programmed answers may not attract customers because they can come across as impersonal and robotic. Customers often prefer to interact with a human who can provide a more personalized and empathetic response. Additionally, pre-programmed answers may not always address the specific needs or concerns of the customer, leading to frustration and dissatisfaction. To improve customer satisfaction, it may be beneficial to incorporate AI technology with human support to provide a more comprehensive and effective customer service experience.

Purpose-built chatbots (e.g. the AI customer service agent) are examples of software-based applications of artificial intelligence technology. Today, under the umbrella of artificial intelligence, Generative AI, more specifically, leveraging the large language model (LLM), has made specialized chatbots more affordable and quicker to be developed, iterated, and deployed.

I do not share critics' opinions on automating conversational processes by AI. There are many prejudices in this field. For example, we develop voice assistants and can automate up to 10% of incoming calls in large companies without degrading CX. This saves resources and means in natural indicators for the company's economy and improves the internal working climate: staff turnover decreases, agents switch to more complex tasks, no more dummy job they need to do. Now, with the increasing complexity of their products, firms do not expand their staff to cover the growing flow of calls but use what they already have. We have no confirmation that companies necessarily want to optimize their AI processes in a way - to lay off employees!

In this case, automation is very helpful when the customer calls on their own. However, the solution where bots call customers themselves also has its place. Still, in this case, extremely careful audience targeting must be done to avoid being identified as spam.

See the example: we work in the field of voice bots. We know abandoned cart rates in e-commerce can reach up to 75% and vary even more across industries. Passive methods like automated email reminders can increase conversion by ~ 5%, but robots can boost it by up to 30%. Why? Due to proactivity, empathy, and being instant. However, such integration requires careful attention to a company's current processes to avoid becoming intrusive.

More often than not, when an organization creates a chatbot and puts it out in the wild, people get frustrated because it doesn't do everything that they thought it would do. To humanize people's experience with chatbots, we(the organization) will need a team that is designed to not just look at the data but to look at how people are using it, and what they are getting - or not getting - out of the questions they ask. When we do that, we may find it necessary to change everything we've done and start from the ground up.

Contrary to the belief that AI will take over the world, it's untrue. Chatbots are our assistants/helpers, as they perform mundane tasks for us, allowing humans new opportunities to develop, avoid burnout, and engage in exciting activities. Automation of conversational processes indeed changes company operations, but such optimization is not a direct cause of layoffs. Customers' attitudes towards conversations with robots depend not so much on their attitude towards the robots themselves but rather on the thorough development of the processes involving these robots. Customers are dissatisfied with the weak integration of robots.
