Your statement is a very thought out response. Devil's advocate....What if the Owners have a different goal and schedule? The Owners have said they don't care what your company standards, procedures are. We are to run the project their way. Can you stay within the values of your company? Can you show your corporate office (boss) that changing the company SOP can be successful? How.can you gain your bosses approval?

Conduct a Cause and Effect (C&E) or Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). This makes decision much more objective and aligned with priorities (ranked by your boss or customer). It’s harder to argue with numbers when they are overwhelmingly pointing to the right answer. Plus, it shows that you’ve (and the team have) considered all options and it’s much easier to choose when it’s in black and white grid rather than theoretical web of options.
