It can be confusing to know how to begin your own company while working as a teacher. Actually, doing both at the same time, is a perfect way to begin because building a business takes time and having the support of a full-time job can give you the confidence to take creative risks with a business. When I began my consulting company called, Encouraging Works, I started in small ways by teaching and yoga and offering mindfulness classes. My goal and hope was to help people find peace in their day through simple practices. I did this by teaching yoga and offering lectures at libraries, churches, and in the community. All that I was sharing enhanced my business, and also enhanced my ability to be a teacher and a school counselor.

For me teaching and business, in the field of management are more than complementary and are almost the same. The body of knowledge and practical skills are mutual and complementary. Teaching and work in business are the two sides of the same coin and banknote.
