As the saying goes, 'Resume is your first impression on a recruiter', I believe it should always contain the following information: 1) General description of your role. 2) Your achievements of the said role. 3) The impact of the achievements preferably quantified in terms of percentage decrease in the turn around time of a process or cost efficiency. I’m a great believer in the benefit of an effective cover letter. Much is said about what to say in a resume a lot is cliched stuff but still important. However the bottom line is the document usually written in the third person lacks humanity or more aptly outlined a human touch. This single one page introduction and read first is really what should hook the reader and lead them to read your resume

I am an Academic Advisor and I speak to younger college students about the importance of getting experiences outside the classroom. I try to break stereotypes that students have about “waiting” to find volunteer or internships until Junior/Senior year.
