Here's how you can use abductive reasoning to spark innovation in your career.
Abductive reasoning might sound like high-level detective work, but it's actually a powerful tool that can ignite innovation in your career. Unlike deductive reasoning, which starts with a general rule and moves to a specific instance, or inductive reasoning, which starts with observed data and creates a general rule, abductive reasoning begins with an incomplete set of observations and proceeds to the likeliest possible explanation. This form of reasoning is used extensively in hypothesis formation, where you come up with a theory to explain a set of observations that don't immediately fit into an existing framework.
