Your enemy is the defensive mindset. It is ok to fail, it is part of your success journey. No need to have reason for each negative feedback and try to explain the problem, acknowledge the failure and save your power to solve it. I know it is easy to say, but you need to overcome any challenges to admit with failure. Consider the following in your journey: - Fail fast and grow is the secret sauce for success - Negative feedback is more valuable than positive one. First and foremost it is very important to accept the failure.To work and explore on any product it is required that we work on the downfall and embrace reality. Specifically working on the parts where we failed will help us in not repeating the same mistakes in the future.

In my last experience, when a friend asked me to evaluate their product, I realized that the reasons for failure included a lack of attention to the customer. It's not enough to just create the product; you have to be precise. The product should not be tailored only for yourself and your friends. Is the problem with the strategy? The strategy might be accurate, but you may not have implemented it properly. Become a police detective: go to the product scene, note the issues, understand the defects, interview customers, remember the causes, and re-examine the issues.

If you don't learn, then don't get into product management. I am proud of my failures. Many years ago, I had a product in the field of advocacy that failed, and I did not include this failed product in my LinkedIn work experience. Why did it fail? Regular daily meetings were not held. The technical team did not understand the product. The supplier team thought the product was only one month old and had no life cycle. There were no user stories. PRDs were not accurate. During my early days into product, while working for retail client, we were about to launch a new feature in next couple months, so our team thought it would be a great idea to put a link to this new feature on the existing app rightaway, which when clicked would say “coming soon” , as a teaser ! Little did we know as soon as we launched it, we have dozens of queries coming from end users saying, they clicked the link , it said “coming soon”, they waited for some time & nothing came up ! This was truly a eye opener for me & a wake up call to understand it’s crucial to step in end users shoes & think from their POV, which makes try, fail, repeat, succeed iteration model incredibly important for product success !

If multiple departments are involved, a meeting with their respective head to identify the reasons and suggest possible solutions can be held. To avoid extreme consequences always have CAPA set beforehand. Risk mitigation plans will prepare you to handle severe and critical consequences wisely.
