While failure or being proven wrong often sucks, it mostly only happens because of our own expectations and beliefs. If we acknowledge that fact and look a little further into the 'failure' we might find insights that we wouldn't have found otherwise. I am not saying your goal should be to fail, so you can get great insights...but failures often lead us to changing our persective and trying to find the reason behind the failure. And sometimes a failure can reveal breakthrough insights, that no one in the team thought of before. So instead of feeling miserable, see it as a chance to dig deeper and to improve your work.

Learning from failure is kind of essential in order to have improvements. Specially in UX design, while UX is all about creating a product or an experience that from every aspect is enjoyable and intuitive for users. Achieving this result often is challenging and of course has failures. The point is, taking these failures as an opportunity to reassess and improve the product. By analyzing the failures, designers are able to enhance their product and make it more user friendly, since each failure showcase a usability issues.

While it is of course important to achieve a desired outcome, we're not in the business of saving lives. And the same goes for UX research. Is it annoying if something doesn't work out the way we planned it? Absolutely! But will it harm anyone? Most likely not. So... 1. Stay positive 2. Try to find the reasons for the issues or failure that occured 3. Come up with strategies to turn it around 4. See it as a lesson and opportunity for improvement
