Hone your speaking skills. Delivery: Presence, staging, vocal strength and quality, audience engagement, speed, silence… these all matter. Also join a network of speakers. Not only will you be networking, which may bring up speaking opportunities, but you’ll also be learning from them. We’re a friendly bunch. :)
