Finding and implementing solutions takes time, especially for having a smooth transition and acceptance. It's human nature to resist change, that's why the timeline should always be adapted to the company's needs and priorities. The age and education of users is also an important factor, especially if they used the same system for years.

If the project is already live or in the last phase of delivery the pressure will be high to fix the problem in shorter duration. For ensuring a robust fix, try to brainstorm and come up with more than one solutions along with pros and cons. If required validate different solutions locally. Before releasing the solution enough validations shall be done to confirm the fix is not breaking something else.

Finally, monitor the results of the implemented solutions to ensure they're effective. This involves tracking the same metrics or data points that indicated there was a problem in the first place.
