Utilize data-driven decision-making to continuously refine your strategies and establish long-term relationships with potential talent.

From my experience, first thing you need to consider is understanding the position as if you are going to work into that role, ensuring that you've got all the keywords necessary to help with your search. Then ensure that you create a candidate profile that suits the position. Once you create profile you can then create a evaluation metric that solidifies the quality of the search.

Assess the skills required and the previous experience that may be beneficial. What i have been very grateful for is the rise of online testing in the modern strategic recruitment space. For years hiring managers had to take a chance that referees would give an honest and comprehensive assessment of a candidates hard skills or take valuable time to set up assessment centres. With modern online testing for hard skills such as data entry speed and accuracy but also for critical thinking, cognitive ability, combined with personality testing for leadership brings a whole new world of evaluating candidates that is science based and allows a fairer more merit based recruitment. I still love meeting people face to face, but taking out some of the variables in a measured and definable way is the new paradigm.

Each industry has its assessment tools that could assist in evaluating the technical abilities for the candidates. You need to search for a specialized tool for your industry to help you evaluate skills that are specific to the position.
