In my personal experience, going solo as a fairly new engineer has a drawback- lack of guidance. Getting exposure is the only way to learn but at the same time, having experienced people by our side helps to actually grow, in that learning curve. I always talk about my first manager in my cloud journey, his guidance was a key component in my career growth.
