Here's how you can start learning User Experience Design (UED) as a beginner.

Muitos dos meus pares, na atua??o diária, focam seus esfor?os em prototipar, apenas. Entender e explorar os diversos aspectos do dia a dia de UX, envolve trabalhar diversos outros entregáveis, além de protótipos, apenas. A prototipa??o está associada ao Design de Interface, ao UI - User Interface Design. Claro que é parte integrante da nossa entrega, do nosso foco de atua??o. Mas devemos ir além disso. Ainda que gerentes e gestores queiram o protótipo enquanto resultado final, devemos enriquecer o processo de todos os entregáveis que culminam em produtos fáceis de usar e agradáveis.

Start with a right approach. Understand what is UED. Analyze different applications and list down what are the pain points of those applications. Try to find solutions for those pain points. Also it's a good idea to sketch your solutions which we call wireframes. If you can do that then you are all good to start learning User Experience Design. Take some online courses and also start looking for design inspirations and case studies by various designers to deep dive into world of UX design.

Before diving into practice, it's crucial to grasp the fundamentals of User Experience Design (UED). To begin with UED, focus on understanding what users need and want. Design thinking is a good place to start—it's about solving problems by understanding people's feelings and ideas. Learn how to talk to users to learn from them, and then create personas, which are like fictional characters that represent different types of users. After that, map out their journeys, which shows the steps they take when using a product.

Start by learning the basic concepts and theories that underpin UED. This includes understanding user research techniques, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and interaction design principles. Online platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and LinkedIn Learning offer courses covering these topics.

To get the best in UED the basics are very important. Though in every point of view User experience design means to solve problems and make the program more usable and enjoyable to the user. But sometimes before solving the problem basics like Color psychology, UX principles, typography and many other basics should be cleared. After following the basics a proper product could be made.

Understand the fundamentals of UX design. There are many online courses, tutorials, and books available to get you started. Learn about user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.

Consider the process of booking a flight online. Learning the basics of UED would involve designing a website where users can easily find flight options, filter by their preferences, and complete their booking without confusion or frustration. The goal is to make the user's journey from landing on the homepage to receiving their booking confirmation as smooth and intuitive as possible.

Once you understand the basics of UED theory, start practicing by sketching interfaces or making wireframes. These are simple drawings that show how users use a product's layout. It helps you see how designs work and try out different ideas. You can use simple tools like pencil and paper to start, and later move on to digital tools as you get more comfortable.

Theory is essential, but practical application is where you'll truly hone your skills. Start with simple design exercises and gradually work your way up to more complex projects. You can find design challenges and prompts online, or even try redesigning existing products or interfaces to improve their user experience.

As we've all heard, practice makes perfect, but never how and what to practice? The simplest way to begin practice is to replicate designs we see daily. Take a simple flow from Mobbin. Ex, take the entire flow of ordering from a restaurant from Zomato till order confirmation. This will have about 10 screens. Replicate each screen with as much precision as possible (font styles, Colors , spacing etc). Try to understand why each element is placed wherever it is and the perspective of the user as well. Reason within yourself if you think the screen has the right elements or not. If necessary, discuss with more people.this is a great exercise to improve your fundamentals. PS , if you don't have access to Mobbin, download the app if possible.

I actually have an different perspective about this. I think the first thing a beginner should do, before anything else, is dive into practical design work. Pick a website/app and try to recreate the screens in Figma. See how it's put together, identify why elements are arranged the way they are, and find areas where you think the UX or UI could be improved. Then, try redesigning some of those elements. I’d suggest not getting too caught up in principles and rules at first. Dive right in and learn by doing. Once you've gotten your hands dirty, the principles and theory will be much easier to grasp and apply in the right context. Also, this will help avoid analysis paralysis or to overthink your process, and get you to learn faster.

Practice with modular design. Look at components that are common across most platforms and try bringing your own twist on them. Some examples can be a search bar, a navigation bar, login areas, shopping carts and so on. This will not only improve your design thinking but also allow you to break big things down and work without putting yourself under too much pressure.

Falling into digital design tools is a crucial step for any UX designer. Starting with one or two tools allows you to develop a deep understanding of their capabilities and workflows. It's like mastering your favorite instrument—you don't need to play every instrument in the orchestra to make beautiful music. Online tutorials and community forums are like your personal coaches, guiding you through the ins and outs of each tool at your own pace. The goal is not to become a master of all tools, but to become proficient enough to translate your design ideas into tangible prototypes that can be tested and refined based on user feedback.

So, if you're getting into UX design, you gotta check out tools like Figma and Adobe XD. They're like the cool kids on the block when it comes to designing stuff. Figma's awesome for team projects, and XD's got all the bells and whistles for making sleek designs. Give 'em a shot, and you'll be rocking those designs in no time!

As ferramentas s?o incríveis e importantes. Aprenda algumas. Figma é um excelente ponto de partida. Porém, antes de tudo, aprenda a expressar suas idéias em narrativas e sequencias. Isso pode ser feito em um papel com caneta. Os aplicativos permitem que sejamos mais consistentes visualmente e principalmente permitem escala e complexidade que no papel seria difícil.

Seu portfólio deve conter n?o apenas o design em si, mas seus insights, benchmarks, pesquisas com usuários, qual era a dor e como você chegou àquela solu??o, como foi validado, enfim: o que você possuir de informa??es sobre o contexto. Quanto mais rico o conteúdo, mais será transparente a forma que você lidou com o processo. Um portfólio rico n?o é necessariamente um portfólio grande, mas um que tenha conteúdos variados e que cada projeto mostre sua dedica??o, organiza??o e linha de raciocínio da melhor forma possível.

UED is a constantly evolving field, so it's important to stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. Follow industry blogs, attend workshops and conferences, and continue taking courses to expand your knowledge and skill set. Networking with other professionals in the field can also provide valuable insights and opportunities for growth.

As we live in the modern age of technology everything is changing with time and the revolution keeps going on. For example- Designs from 90's don't look that much great compared to our Design trends. Everything is updating, we should also update ourselves and senses so that, we can stay up to date. This is very crucial for a designer whether he/she keeps himself/herself updated to the latest design trends and rules or else he/she is backdated as a designer. For this we have to gain more networking with more Design people's because, there are many creative talents around us we don't know. There is no end to learning. Everyday there is a new trend a new product. Who knows what's the next upgrade to the design trends!??.Very interesting right!

The best advice I've recieved is at networking events such as meetups and conferences. You meet industry standard people at such events and your able to learn many other aspects of UED which are rarely spoken about. To improve UX of any product you need to know how to ask questions. This is the best skill you will learn in networking events. Better question-> better answers + best implementation (UI) = Amazing user experience.
