For anyone looking to get started with sustainability practices I recommend reading the book Regenerative leadership. It doesnt only touch on sustainability in regards to our relationship with nature but also about sustainability with our inner world, our communities and more. It's about learning from nature systems to create process that feed into eachother and provide value. Its a really good read that sources sooo many more books for whoever wishes to do a deepdive to some of the concepts covered in the book.

Look for opportunities in your local community to either join an existing project or step up to the plate yourself and champion a new project. I did this in college, picking up a project to develop a proposal for a new composting program which was my first time working on this topic. We found success with our final proposal being accepted by the Student Senate. Below are my key takeaways: 1. Be a sponge - learn as much as you can about the specific solution you're working on 2. Keep humility and learn from those who have more experience or knowledge 3. Hear from others with different backgrounds, expertise areas, and those who will be impacted by the project 4. Be open to necessary changes, but stay strong on your collective goal
