I can its easy to do transition from data analyst to data scientist both will handling similar tasks like (data manipulation, data transformation, handling missing values, drawing insights from the data, visualizing the data, data preprocessing, data cleaning but in data scientist it will not end up just visualizing and drawing insight ,we will be predictions and forecasting, finding accuracy, error rates to do all these we not only need analytical we also need research skills to find out multiple possibilities and methods to solve the business problem and what techniques can give them the best results you need to learn algorithms and some developer skills and way of approaching a problem and solutions differs that is other things are same

You get to learn from individuals and try to find out what they did to transition. My best process to network is reaching out to individuals for a short call/video to discuss what they do. This meeting should be purely you trying to understand the firm, their role, the team, & what it entails to be a data scientist.

You can learn things on books and courses, but if you can't show that you have used it and explain how you have used it it doesn't matter. Applying what you learn as soon as and as often as possible is vital.

While transitioning from data analyst to data scientist, show what skills you have gained that make you ideal as a data scientist. As and when you develop any end-to-end system, try to show it to the community on LinkedIn and put it on Git Hub. It will help to broaden the chances of getting noticed. Add the relevant projects to your resume along with the courses, certifications and skills gained from it. You can also add which data analysis skills are helpful in this role as well. While demonstrating the project or sharing a certificate with the community, tell them what skills you have gained by working on it. These aspects will definitely help you to transform from data analyst to data scientist.

There are usually two views: A data scientist with knowledge as wide as an ocean but with a depth of a few centimeters or a data scientist with a more limited level of information but deep and complete. If you are looking for work in smaller companies, usually the first type is recommended. So, complete your resume with various projects to prove that you have been involved in various fields. But larger companies usually prefer data scientists with the second orientation due to the more detailed segmentation in their structure. For these companies, your many skills in the specialized branch required by that company are important. The choice is yours.

Continuous learning is very important in the field of data science, especially when you are transitioning. While facing interviews as well interviewer may ask questions on current trends. To stay updated with the newest tools and technology, you can - subscribe to new letters and journals - make a habit of reading research papers and articles - follow the related LinkedIn communities - follow the top voices on social media - learn from enrolling on courses on platforms like EDX, Coursera, Udemy, Havard, NPTEL etc. to gain knowledge on the topic (there are so many free courses available on these platforms) - develop different use-case projects by the skills you gained - connect with like-minded people and interact with them to stay updated

In today's world, learning never stops and we must learn more every day. But what to do with limited time and resources? We don't have infinite time, so we need to set our compass to high goals and practice purposefully. When adding a skill, ask yourself two important questions: How close does this training bring me to my goal? Is there any other training that will help me achieve my goal? The answer is clear.

It's a tough market and even though there are a lot of companies hiring data scientist there are more trying to become data scientists. Data Analyst to Data Scientist is not a natural evolution in that is not learning a little more ofv the same, it's not learning another tool or language. Data Science includes, Data Mining, Data Visualization (BI), Machine Learning, and Cloud Computing. Machine Learning doesn't belong. It is based on statistics and math. If you are interested it will be a lot of work. So many skills are included under Data Scientist that the term is used differently by different people and companies. The title may split into machine learning engineer, data engineer, BI developer and I would suggest picking one.
