When I have the time, I ask the participants for their outcomes for the day and what they would like to see, hear, feel and think and take away with them that will make their attendance on the day worthwhile. That way I can tailor my content for each audience and their specific needs and wants.

Remember that some of your participants are external processors, so they will need the opportunity to talk in a small group or the larger group to talk about what they’re learning and how they can apply it. We also have people who learn by internal processing and they’ll be the quiet ones in those groups who are quietly processing in the background what they’ve seen,heard, felt and what they are thinking about the information you have given them. It’s important to create space for both type of processes so everyone has a chance to integrate the learnings.
