I too made this mistake early on. I used to connect with people on Linkedin but did not focus on building lasting and genuine relationships. It is better to have less number of genuine and meaningful connections than to have hundreds of connections but not a single one to look up to when you are transitioning in your career or for any other help in general. Be active in design communities, and initiate conversations with new people you meet during workshops, conferences, meetups, etc.

It is easy to fall in love with your design and just focus on designing fancy UI but it is equally important that you consider the UX part of it and prioritize the needs of the user. Almost every other designer uses this term in their case studies and presentations but it is also important to walk the talk and be truly user-centered and create accessible user experiences.

If you find and get a job offer from MNC you can surely get a Long Term Career in UX. Although it gets stagnant. To me Career is a different ball game. As a 2020(Covid Era) Graduate I am sure of one thing. Building rare skills and solving complex problems is a sure shot way of creating amazing career. With evolving tech reducing boundaries the more you solve hard problems and showcase it better is the Career. If the problem solved or thing built is a rare find you’ll always be in demand and the career would be growing. From UX perspective the individual is an Artist and the art created will be a sure shot way judging for the future opportunities. So the focus should be on creating innovative UX design for opportunities presented.
