Yes...timing matters and one of the things to aid/complement timing is understanding the personality trait of your boss. If you boss is a person who gets overstimulated after engaging in various activities, or likes his/her personal space, approaching such person after, say a long meeting, where the person did a lot interaction will not get the best out of the person. Knowing how and when to approach extroverted boss is quite different from approaching an introverted boss.

Going all in, listing our all you want to get feedback on, may not yield the result in effective response from your boss. Taking it one point at a time, building the conversation and accepting each advice with positivity will encourage your boss to engage you even further.
