In my own experience, coming to terms with the realities of an unfortunate situation is often the first step to healing and moving forward. Coming to terms with that reality can be achieved by l, for example, speaking to figures that could help you sift through and sort the emotions that revolve around the experience. These set of people can help you shift your focus from the end result (a seeming failure) to the lessons that can be learnt and translated to help you make better decisions going forward.

I think people being afraid to be or look vulnerable after their setback is another thing, but what we don't know is that there are also people still trying to figure themselves out that will relate with you. Everyone didn't make it all in one day. Those professionals and experts we see today started from somewhere, and there were times they were newbies and entry levels too. So, don't let setbacks deter you from moving forward. Get up, dust yourself and pick your race dutifully. It's never too late to start all over is there's need for that.

Additionally, you already know what you could have done better, so this is the chance; do better. Acceptance is hard but you must accept and think deeply about the minute details, external factors, and your decisions that led you there.

It is extremely important for an administrative assistant well any professional to set goals in their careers and personal lives. Having goals build character and allows you to accomplish challenges. Set easy and challenging goals. Seeing the goals being checked off one by one is rewarding and be sure to reward yourself for reaching those goals.

Often, people avoid seeking help/support because of the judgement they fear they might face. This is why it is important to objectively cultivate and curate your support system. The sort of system you build is able to make or ruin your career. Make sure your support system has people who are: advanced and willing to mentor, offer constructive criticism, celebrate you, on a journey like yourself and with whom you have mutual respect. To surround yourself with people who have a victim mindset, consistently complain or always flatter and praise, is to set yourself up for another round of failure. So, curate your support system with intention and take advantage of such an association.

In the past, I often hesitated to accept help because my attitude was 'I have to do this alone; only then is it good.' I was able to let go of that, and accepting support and seeking help is an absolute game changer. It can positively influence and accelerate processes and decisions.

Seek support, no man is an island. Be open to opportunities and network with the right people. This can open doors of greater opportunities.

Seeking support was a huge part of my position plus giving it back. In the post I was in could be very emotional, confrontational, and at times aggressive and upsetting. I found I could calm and cope with most of the situations myself but if not, I had no hesitation to seek support from my Senior Colleagues. Team Work.

There is nothing better than making yourself Move Forward after a setback. Pushing yourself for trying opportunities is very difficult. But if you overcome such situations & face it, this will make you so strong in your career. Such experiences are often more rewarding over the long term.
