During a live broadcast, stay the course and be the leader others look to for answers or at the very least, confidence. You don’t have to know everything. You do need to know where to go to get that information. When something goes wrong (and it usually will at some point) find the person who can make it happen and support them.

In my view, the producer role in video technology is both challenging and rewarding. Acting as the captain of the ship, the producer ensures that every aspect of the video production process runs smoothly, which is no small feat. The ability to oversee multiple departments and keep the project on track, both financially and schedule-wise, demands exceptional organizational and leadership skills. Furthermore, effective communication is crucial, as producers must coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Troubleshooting and making swift executive decisions are also essential, as unforeseen problems can arise at any moment. Overall, the role of a producer is integral to the success of any video project

In my experience as a producer, I keep the production on budget and schedule. More so, I'm the creative producer on most projects. I move from the man with the vision after hiring the team to the Line Producer, ensuring things stay in line.

The most important quality a director must possess is not technical, it's being able to tell the story. Next, the director needs a point of view. Everything else can be aided by the collaborators, artists and technicians.

As a director, the role demands a blend of creative vision and leadership. Guiding actors, interpreting scripts, and overseeing the entire production process requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to inspire a team, ensuring the project's artistic and technical excellence from start to finish.

As an aspiring video editor, I believe that our role is crucial in shaping the narrative and enhancing the visual storytelling. Mastering editing software and collaborating with post-production teams are essential to create a seamless, captivating final product that aligns with the director's vision.

What makes the Cinematographer positions so amazing is the balance of the right brain(Creative) and left brain (Craftsmanship). The fine line balance between each other is what makes the Cinematographer such a unique position. You also need to have management skills so you can supervise the camera, grip, and lighting dept.

As a cinematographer, I relish the opportunity to shape the visual essence of a story. Mastery of camera equipment, lighting, and color science, combined with effective communication, allows me to transform the director's vision into captivating visuals that enhance the narrative.

A crucial skill you need as someone working in the sound department is communication. As a sound engineer/recordist, you are responsible for liasing between departments and ensuring information is transmitted as quickly and efficiently as possible. A great production often has a well established sound department with multiple members working together. From the main sound mixer who is responsible for recording and mastering audio levels, all the way to 2nd Assistant sound who often focuses on distributing radio packs to directors/script supervisors/actors/camera. It's important to communicate and to collaborate while also ensuring great sound is recorded for post production.
