Along with these do get a solid understanding of SQL. Again learning them is of no use unless until you do some hands on. Work on some projects, size doesn't matter and build a portfolio using those. Finally learn how to debug the complete production scale repositories

I still prefer reading Typescript code, lol. Good luck learning this, the language is the easy part. The JavaScript ecosystem is like being lost in a dense forest where every blade of grass is a library and every tree is a framework. Anticipate spending days banging your head on the wall, trying to decide which blade of grass or tree to use, to render HTML through HTTP.

Critical for basic understanding of coding. My biggest take-away from this language was pointers, otherwise it is pretty similar to many other popular languages. This language gives a great baseline/framework for understanding programming. If you are just starting out, C++ could arguably be one of the best places to start. I use this often at many places I have worked and if not this exact language, several languages are predicated on C++/C#/C etc. so learning C++ gives you the ability to easily pivot and adapt to related languages.

C++ may feel intimidating at first and less friendly for common tasks than any other counterparts like python, Java, c# etc. However sometimes it's best to learn how the code actually interacts with memory and hardware rather to just focusing I programming logic. I'd recommend it for starters in programming before jumping to a new language.

SQL is another skill that every engineer should have on their resume. You would have gotten the basics SQLs from your collage curriculum, if not start with the core SQL concepts and RDMBS concepts. Once you covered the basics, concentrate on the advanced concepts such as 1. CTEs 2. Window and Aggregate functions 3. Building user defined functions and stored procedures 4. Build complex joins between multiple tables especially high volume tables 5. Learn core of Indices and how different type of indices help to improve the query performance 6. Here’s my “if I had to do it again” advice: First identify your goals. If development of mobile apps on iOS or desktop apps on MacOS is your goal then Swift is the tool for that job. Start in Playgrounds or a CLI app and work through the Swift book. Gain an understanding its strong typing system, optionals, value vs reference types, Swift’s unique implementation of Enums with its algebraic types, as well as learning to work with generics and Apple’s preferred “protocol oriented programming” approach. Next work through some classic data structures / algorithms along with some leetcode problems. Implement a few simple board games (CLI is ok). And FINALLY start working through tutorials. You’ll understand everything being said by then.
